A former Llandovery rugby player has been killed in a crash in north Wales.
Emrys Evans, 40, died after the car he was driving was involved in an accident near Dolgellau at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
Mr Evans was part of the squad when the Drovers won the Welsh Cup in April 2007.
The news comes less than five months after the sudden death of Eifion Gwynne, a team mate of Mr Evans and who died after being hit by a car in the Costa del Sol, southern Spain last October.
Llandovery club chairman Peter Rees said members have been left "shocked" and "deeply saddened" by the news.
He said: "Our thoughts and condolences go to Emrys' family in north Wales and here in Llandovery.
"It has been a particularly sad few months for the club with the passing of Eifion who played with Emrys.
"Emrys was a popular player who was liked by all at the club."
