A mobile Post Office service has been welcomed by Llandybie residents.

The temporary service will be available at the Memorial Hall car park from Wednesday, February 15 and will continue every Wednesday until further notice.

Llandybie Post Office, which was formerly situated on High Street, closed in November last year following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for post office use.

The opening hours for the weekly mobile Post Office service will be 2.30pm until 4.30pm.

A Post Office spokesperson: “The temporary service will offer a wide range of post office products and services while we continue to seek a permanent solution for the area.”

Commenting on the new service, councillor Anthony Davies said: "The village are grateful that a Post Office service will be back present in the village and it shows that Llandybie hasn't been forgotten about.

"Up until now residents have had to use the facilities at Ammanford, Capel Hendre and Penygroes. It will be interesting to see as I haven't seen a mobile Post Office yet."
