IF getting the backing of Sir Alan Sugar wasn’t sweet enough, the first ever Welsh winner of The Apprentice could be setting up the production line of her luxury cake business in the Gwendraeth Valley.

Alana Spencer, who won the most recent series of the BBC hit show last month, tweeted to her 45,600 followers last week that she was at a dairy production site in Cross Hands.

She started in business when she decided to sell chocolate in school, then she moved onto cakes and eventually set up her own company, Narnas, which specialises in luxury homemade baked goods.

Alana beat off 17 other candidates to win the £250,000 investment from multi-millionaire Sir Alan Sugar with her business plan Ridiculously Rich by Alana.

She won the show in December due to her very well-received presentation, her improvement throughout the process, and for the high profit margins and heartfelt nature of her brand.

The 24-year-old tweeted “Spent the day doing trials @GowerViewFoods which is hopefully going to become the new home of Ridiculously Rich By Alana #Tooexcited” on January 3 along with a selfie in her cooking attire.

Gower View Foods, based at Cross Hands Food Park, is a dairy production site able to package a large range of fast moving consumer goods for the UK chilled dairy and yellow fats sector.

Gower View specialises in Butter and Yellow Fats, but also operate extensive range of liquid potting and filling lines too.

Alana, who is currently living in Ceredigion with her boyfriend, always said throughout her time on The Apprentice that she would be keeping the production of her business in Wales.

A Spokesperson for Alana said: “I can confirm that Alana did visit Gower View Foods at Cross Hands and she is currently looking around a few locations in Wales at the moment to find the perfect place for the production of Ridiculously Rich by Alana.

“She is at the very early stages yet, and she is looking forward at what is in store for the forthcoming year.”
