A crash involving a car and a van led to the closure of a stretch of the A40 this morning.

The incident happened near Cwmifor shortly after 7am with the road between Llandeilo and Llangadog closed by police.

A Welsh Ambulance spokesman has confirmed two emergency ambulances were sent to the scene and two patients were taken to Glangwili General Hospital.

The road was closed for the morning and reopened around 12 noon after police arranged for the recovery of the vehicles.
