Aberglasney Gardens will host one of Wales’ biggest festive events when the annual Winter Fair takes place next month.

From humble beginnings in Aberglasney’s Tearooms the annual event now sees the world renowned Gardens transformed into a Christmas shopper’s paradise. You’ll find over 100 handpicked exhibitors who are artists, makers, crafters and designers. Spend a day finding unique gifts, handmade decorations, art, beautiful homeware, and artisan food. There are also one off pieces of jewellery and fashionable winter wear for those who want something special.

For three full days this December the warming scent of mulled wine will welcome visitors to the Gardens. On Friday, December 2 the fair will be open between 11am and 4.30pm, on Saturday and Sunday, December 3 and 4 it will open from 10am to 4.30pm.

Aberglasney, named by the Royal Horticultural Society as one of the UK’s top 10 formal gardens, will also be filled with the sounds of Christmas on Saturday and Sunday. From traditional choirs to silver bands you’re guaranteed to get that festive feeling. Even Santa’s become a fan of the event, so much so he’s having a grotto at Aberglasney this year. He’ll be visiting from 11am until 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a large choice of gifts for gardeners including a selection of plants grown at Aberglasney.

A separate fine food marquee gives you the opportunity to stock up on all your festive treats with some of the region’s very best food artisans and farmers exhibiting again this year.

As well as a special menu at Aberglasney’s Tearooms, MaryEllen’s, there’ll be as a range of outlets for ‘on the go’ eating and drinking.

Admission to the gardens is £8.50 for adults, children up to 16 years old are free and there’s a complimentary glass of mulled wine or spiced apple juice and a mince pie for all visitors. All proceeds raised will help with the continued restoration of the Mansion House and Gardens.

There will be a free park and ride facility on Saturday and Sunday from Coleg Sir Gar’s Gelli Aur Campus, just a few minutes from the Gardens.

Admission to Santa’s Grotto is £4 per child and includes an early Christmas present.
