A Swansea Valley estate agent has featured on an S4C series which focuses on what estate agents are really like and their tricks of the trade.

Ar Werth - translation: For Sale, lifts the lid on the world of Wales' estate agents.

For five months, production company Boom Cymru followed five estate agents from across Wales. Each bravely let the cameras follow the ups and downs of their business, in their quest to find the perfect pads for buyers and the best price for their vendors.

From first time buyers, to house clearances and Beverly Hills style mansions, the series takes the viewers through the keyhole of some of Wales' best houses on the market and into the lives of the people buying and selling them.

Along the way it gets under the skin of what it takes to be an estate agent.

Carys Davies of Alltwen, Pontardawe is tentatively putting a toe in the water in the sales game with her own company Perfect Pads. She started off with her rental service, but her natural curiosity and selling instinct mean the company's sales portfolio is expanding throughout south-west Wales.

She said: “Being a little bit nosey is an important part of the job and being able to have a look around people’s homes is something I do enjoy. You can sometimes provide ideas to potential buyers about possible furnishing and paint colour and that is a pleasure.

“I’m still learning the ropes in the sales market, but it’s going well and I’m enjoying it.”

Also featured on the series is Iestyn Leyshon from Aberystwyth, Dafydd Hardy of Gwynedd, Cardiff salesman Marc Morrish and auctioneer Glyn Owens.

Series producer Catrin Rowlands said, "We wanted to get to know the real people behind the sales talk and blagging. What we found were people with a great sense of humour and a passion for selling properties in Wales'.

Ar Werth is on every Wednesday at 8.25pm on S4C. You can catch up on missed episodes on demand via s4c.cymru or BBC iPlayer.
