PUPILS from an Ammanford nursery have raised over £900 for new sports equipment by taking part in healthy activities.

Ysgol Feithrin Rhydaman school children participated in various sporting activities as part of Healthy Schools Week, which was celebrated at the school from September 26 until September 30.

Also Carmarthenshire County Council's Go Safe mascot, Gari Gofal, visited the school as part of the week long scheme and taught the children how to walk safety around the yard.

Each child also completed laps of the yard on bikes, circuits of the climbing frame and took part in a ball skills session.

The pupils raised an impressive £931.71 which will go towards new outdoor equipment at the school.

School teacher Nerys Williams said: “I would like to say a big thank you to all the parents and the community who continue to support our school.”
