WORK on a new crossing and car park entrance near Ammanford's Wilko store has been put on hold.
Earlier this year the county council revealed first stage plans that will see a new car park entrance created to accommodate the relocation of the crossing point with a new pedestrian controlled crossing installed at a new location.
Work was due to start in the school summer holidays, however the executive board member for the environment, councillor Hazel Evans, has revealed work has been put on hold while they consult with Network Rail.
She said: "We are currently consulting with Network Rail to make sure they are happy with the proposal due to the proximity of the planned pedestrian controlled crossing to the level crossing."
