CREWS from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service have saved a dog walker and her two dogs after they plunged over a 20 foot drop.

The woman was out walking her dogs next to Pontardawe Golf Club this morning when she took a tumble down a bank and fell onto a ledge, which saved her from falling a further 70 feet.

Around 20 firefighters attended the scene and used an aerial drone to deal with the situation.

Rope rescue specialists helped the woman and her dogs off the ledge and they were back on safe ground by 12.30pm this afternoon.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called at approximately 10.40am this morning to reports a person had slipped down an embankment at Pontardawe Golf Club.

"We sent an emergency ambulance to the scene, where the crew treated one patient but they were not conveyed to hospital."

A spokesman for the fire service confirmed the trio were unhurt.

It is also believed that staff at Pontardawe Golf Club provided the woman with a cup of team after her return.
