ORGANISERS of a leading charity in the UK are calling on people of Carmarthenshire to get together to help support the organisation which provides support for people living with a terminally illness.

Whether it’s a garden party for family and friends or a small bake sale at work, Marie Curie are asking people to hold a ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ between Monday 20 June to Wednesday 29 June.

Marie Curie currently employs more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professions, and with its nine hospices around the UK, is the largest provider of hospice beds outside the NHS.

Since the campaign started in 2008, over £4.5 million has been raised from tea parties across the UK. The proceeds raised from the campaign helps Marie Curie Nurses care for more people living with the terminal illness across the UK.

Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie, Hannah Leckie, said: “It’s easy to support Marie Curie with a Blooming Great Tea Party and it really is up to you how you decide to join in.

“Every pound raised will enable us to help even more people living with a terminal illness which includes those we support directly in South Wales through the Marie Curie Nursing Services and our telephone and online support services.”
