UNSUNG heroes at a Betws care home have been recognised for their hard work and dedication at an awards ceremony earlier this month.

Team members and volunteers alike at Catref Annwyl Fan care home, which specialises in residential, dementia and nursing care, had their work celebrated among residents at a special ceremony held at the care home.

Catref Annwyl Fan care home is a specialist care provider which has been established for over 19 years with 15 care homes across England and Wales.

The event was hosted by Catref Annwyl Fan general manager Adele Williams, and each of the deserving winners were cheered on by the residents as they walked across the stage to collect their certificates and awards.

Prior to the awards evening, the finalists had been nominated and interviewed by Adele, who is also the regional director for Hallmark Care Homes.

Some of the winners on the night include Ceri Rigden, who was named nurse of the year, Shaun Gladman won rising star of the year and Tegwyn Griffiths won the award for carer of the year.

Other winners include Nicola Bates, who was named dementia champion of the year, Georgia Mills scooped the volunteer of the year title and Alex Toth won the award for ancillary team member of the year. Also Marie Woodcock walked away with the lifestyle leader and co-ordinator of the year.

General manager Adele Williams: “We had a great awards ceremony recognising and rewarding our shining stars at Catref Annwyl Fan care home.

“These team members really do work with compassion, commitment and enthusiasm to ensure our residents receive outstanding care which ensures we enhance their quality of life.

“I am really proud we have such amazing individuals working at home, they really do deserve to have awarded these awards.”

All of the winners have now been automatically shortlisted for the care provider’s national awards ceremony, the Hallmark Care Homes Awards, which will take place in September and be presented by TV personality Eamonn Holmes.
