AN Amman Valley riding club has thanked its sponsors following their annual winter dressage series championship.

Cwmaman Riding Club hosted the event last month which saw keen riders of all abilities take part.

The small equestrian centre relies solely on sponsorship and donations which enables the club to host events.

Dressage secretary Briony Cutler said: "The club has few members compared to other local clubs and we rely greatly on sponsorship and donations in order to run shows.

"The shows are enjoyed by all who attend and club members are very enthusiastic and try to make the championship a day to remember."

The sponsorship money means the club are able to purchase rosettes, sashes and prizes for riders.

This year's show was sponsored by Benson & Watkins Solicitors, The Riding Stock Market, Acorn Equestrian, Aniwel by Shannon DeSmet, Blue Chip by Julie DeSmet, Little Mill Equestrian, Iwan Hall Fencing, Tony Mathews & Geraint Thomas.

Briony added: "The show cannot go on without sponsors so we thank them all very much."

The highest scoring senior rider of the day was won by Elizabeth Thomas riding Bizzy Lizzy sponsored by Ernest G Brooks Jewellers of Ammanford. Phoebe Greenaway riding her pony Mischief won the highest scoring Junior.
