AN AMMANFORD care home has been crowned one of Wales' best.

Garnant House was named in the top 20 most recommend care homes in Wales.

The award is based on the care home’s recommendations from residents, friends and relatives of residents.

There are 1,095 homes in the country, with the top 20 being honoured by care home guide carehome.co.uk.

Paul Stewart, owner of Garnant House, said: “We are very proud of our open and transparent culture at Garnant House.

"We encourage residents, colleagues and loved ones alike to tell us what they think, warts and all. It’s one of the main ways we can improve and deliver an even better service.

“We have created a homely and welcoming environment for our residents, everyone is treated with dignity and respect and, importantly, as an individual, this is their home.”

Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, said: “We feel the best people to rate a care home are the residents and their families and friends.

"Their recommendations show that so many care homes are warm and inviting places to live where residents receive loving and compassionate care.

“Garnant House has proven they provide excellent care and we’d like to congratulate them on being a top recommended home in Wales.

"It’s a wonderful achievement to be recognised for being a highly recommended home by the very people you care for.

“Looking for the right care home can be tough. We hope our awards will help to make people’s search that little bit easier.”
