TWO Amman Valley gymnasts have celebrated winning gold at the Urdd Gymnastics competition.
Nine-year-old Rhisian Thomas and eight-year-old Elsie Taylor, both pupils of Ysgol y Bedol, picked up gold in the pairs category at the Llanelli event on November 26.
Rhisian also won silver in the individual category.
They are both taught by Ysgol y Bedol teaching assistant and gymnastics teacher Carys Thomas who expressed her delight at their achievements.
“I am very proud of them both, they have worked hard to achieve their awards,” she said.
The duo will now go on to the next round of competitions in Aberystwyth on February 10.
