CARMARTHENSHIRE parents are being urged to check their children’s car seats after a high street retailer Argo issued a product recall.

The catalogue store issued the recall for three Fisher Price models due to safety concerns after it emerged the seats’ safety restraints failed to meet test requirements.

The failure to meet the requirements could compromise a child's safety in the event of an accident.

Parents are being urged to stop using the seats immediately and return them to Argos for either a replacement or refund.

The safety notice affects three child car seats sold from July 24, 2015:

  • Fisher Price Group 0-1 car seat - Argos catalogue number 414/9314
  • Fisher Price Group 1 car seat - Argos catalogue number 413/4082
  • Fisher Price Group 123 car seat - Argos catalogue number 390/9720

You can return the car seat to an Argos store for a replacement or full refund. If you have any queries Argos has set up a free helpline 0345 600 5388.
