AGE Cymru Sir Gâr is urging the public to get behind their latest campaign, Spread the Warmth, which aims to help people stay warm this winter.

Following the release of this years John Lewis advert, the charity is calling on the people of Carmarthenshire to help older people in their community.

The staff and volunteers of Age Cymru have been working tirelessly the last year to help older members of the community, not just at Christmas, but all year round.

You can pick up information packs from Age Cymru Sir Gâr which has details of the services they provide, along with some information on the key winter campaign, which is aimed at helping people to remain warm and healthy in their own homes.

In the run up to Christmas the charity is encouraging people to provide the gift of information to someone they know who is isolated, whether it be a neighbour, family member, or someone who you don't speak to but who is alone.

A spokesperson for Age Cymru Sir Gâr said, "Members of the community could reach out to older people in their community by simply talking to them, telling them that there is an organisation that could help them - maybe to gain more benefits, maybe to get more help around the home or to meet someone new and socialise.

"So please, give someone that first helping hand, a warm smile and the chance to help themselves with valuable information."

Information Packs and further information on how you can help can be gained from Age Cymru Sir Gâr by ringing 01554 784080, e-mail info@agecymrusirgar.org.uk or call into their Llanelli office at LEC Workshops, 100 Trostre Road.
