Members of the All Saints Church Restoration Project celebrated a significant step forward recently when they met with architect Richard Lamb and representatives of contractors Welsh Heritage Construction Ltd, the firm appointed to carry out the redevelopment of the iconic Ammanford church.

Work on the £500,000 restoration project has been a labour of love for the group’s grants officer Peter Pemberton and group secretary Desna Pemberton.

“It has been a long journey over the last three years raising the £500,000 to fund the Clock Tower repair work and regenerate and adapt the building for full community use,” said Mrs Pemberton.

“The team would like to take this opportunity to thank the community of Ammanford and all its organisations who have supported them in kind or with letters of support.

“It is this support that has enabled successful submission of grant applications.”

“The grant funders are the Welsh Assembly CFP , Heritage Lottery Fund, WREN, CWM. Mynydd Y Betws Wind Farm and County Collaboration Fund.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their generosity and trust in the project.

“We look forward to meeting their representatives at the rededication of All Saints as a church and community facility.”

All Saints, which is celebrating its centenary this year will see the grand unveiling of the completed project next spring.
