Applications for Swansea City's cash giveaway are once again open, with up to £25,000 worth of grants up for grabs.

SwansAid, the Clubs’ grant giving pot, kicked off in September 2013, and has since distributed almost £100,000 to a variety of charities and community organisations across South West Wales.

Each season, SwansAid awards one large grant of £10,000 along with six smaller grants, as well as sets of kits for children and young people’s community sporting clubs.

The aim of these grants is to support organisations that encourage children, young or disabled people to get active, and this round will see the funds being used for a range of different projects and equipment.

“Swansea City Football Club is very much a community focused Club,” said Helen Elton, the Assistant Head of Community for the Trust.

“We know that local small Clubs and charities are struggling and SwansAid is one way we can help out. I would encourage anyone who works with children, young people or people with disabilities to check the guidance on the website and see whether their groups could benefit from SwansAid support,” she continued.

Whether the need is for balls or bibs, skateboards or scooters, SwansAid aims to help a variety of different charities and organisations, not just football.

The next round of applications is now open until November 20.

The latest round, chosen in April, saw the Trust award £10,000 to Baglan Boys and Girls Club, as well as grants of up to £2,000 going to the Community Urban Skills Project, Penlan Table Tennis, Penllergaer Primary PTA, Swansea Young Single Homeless Project (SYSHP), The Hill Community Development Trust and the West Wales Pan Disability Football League.
