A 77-year-old farmer has appeared in court to deny the death of 84-year-old Michael Higgins at Llandeilo's pedestrian crossing by careless driving
A 77-year-old Lampeter farmer has denied causing the death of a Llandeilo pensioner by careless driving at the Rhosmaen Street pedestrian crossing on the morning of the town's Winter Fayre last year.
Evan John Jones, of 34 Bro Henllys, was the driver of a blue Ford Focus which collided with 84-year-old Michael Donald Higgins at 10.30am on November 29.
Mr Higgins died in hospital on Boxing Day from injuries caused during the incident.
Mr Evans elected for his trial to be heard before a jury at Swansea Crown Court. He will next appear in Swansea on September 11.
