A round-up of cases to have gone before the magistrates during the past week.

DAMAGING property has cost a Towy valley man a hefty bill and a community order.

Jake Albert Hawkins, aged 22, of Pentrecwm Cottage, Llandeilo, admitted that he damaged a front door belonging to Family Housing at Llandeilo on July 15, to a value of under £5,000.

He was fined £100 by Llanelli Magistrates and also ordered to pay compensation of £517, a criminal courts charge of £150 plus £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

A community order was also made in which Hawkins must attend rehabilitation activity sessions for a maximum of 30 days.

A SWANSEA Valley woman who drove with an expired licence has been fined by Llanelli magistrates.

Miss Josephine Catherine Bailey, aged 33, of 14 Gorof Road, Lower Cwmtwrch, was convicted in her absence for driving otherwise in accordance with a licence at Brynaman on February 1.

She was fined £200 with three licence points, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

No plea was entered.

AN AMMAN Valley motorist has been fined by Llanelli magistrates for failing to identify a driver thought to have committed an offence

Cathryn Joanne, aged 43, of 7 Colbren Square, Gwaun Cae Gurwen, was convicted in her absence by Llanelli magistrates for the offence, which happened at Gorslas in December.

She was fined £600 with six licence points, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge. A second charge of speeding was withdrawn.

A PONTARDDULAIS woman who was in possession of herbal cannabis has been made the subject of a 12-month conditional discharge issued by Llanelli magistrates.

Leah Christine Walters, aged 31, of 173 Teilo Street, admitted she had 0.6 grams of the class drug in Pontarddulais on June 25.

She must also pay a £180 criminal courts charge, a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

A CROSS Hands motorist has been fined £80 with three licence points by Llanelli magistrates for driving with a bald, front offside tyre.

Heather Eileen Dewell, aged 47 of 87 Carmarthen Road, Cross Hands, admitted the offence, which happened at Carmarthen in January, and was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
