Crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers has offered a £2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a convicted sex offender.

Brian Ward, from Pontyclun, absconded during a trial for sexual offences at Newport Crown Court in November 2013.

The 58-year-old was found guilty in his absence but, despite a wide-scale search by South Wales Police, he has not been caught.

Ward is known to have connections to Cardiff, Aberdare and Newport as well as Surrey, London and Malta.

He has been known to use alias surnames including Wood, Cordina, Bryant and Rose.

Stuart Taylor, Chairman of Crimestoppers’ committee in Wales, said: “Ward is a dangerous sex offender and it is vital that he is captured to ensure that he cannot strike again.

“There are people out there who know where he is but don’t want to talk to the police.

"I would urge you to share what you know with Crimestoppers anonymously."

Anyone with information can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via the Anonymous Online Form at crimestoppers-uk.org.

“We don’t take personal details and we can’t trace information given online or over the phone. No-one will ever know you called," said Mr Taylor.

“Please do the right thing and help us find Ward. Help us to take him off the street and get justice for his victim.”
