A ROBBER armed with a knife stole a quantity of cash for a Carmarthen food store last night, police have confirmed.

The raider entered the store the High Noon Spar store on King Street at approximately 9.50pm, on Monday, July 20.

The robber is described as being roughly 5ft 11inches tall and a skinny build.

He was wearing grey Adidas Original jogging bottoms with a small navy Adidas logo just above the right hip, a black hoody with a yellow logo across the top half of the chest. He was also wearing a balaclava/facecovering.

Police are investigating all lines of enquiry to catch this offender as swiftly as possible and are supporting the victim.

In addition to the investigation, extra patrols will be carried out in the area to provide reassurance to people living and working in the area.

Detective Inspector Louise Harries said: “Incidents of this nature are rare within Carmarthenshire, a number of officers are involved in carrying out a thorough investigation in order to catch the offender.
