A round-up of cases to go before magistrates in the past week.

A LLANDYBIE man, who has admitted to criminal damage and resisting arrest, has been bailed by Carmarthen magistrates.

Jonathan Richard Thomas, aged 28, of 6 Glynhir Road, caused damage of £100 to a window belonging to Phillip Pritchard at Ammanford on Christmas Eve last year.

He then resisted PC312 Wyn Davies as he tried to arrest him. Thomas was remanded on bail and the case adjourned until April 23 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.

A charge of assaulting PC Davies was withdrawn and one of making threats to a custody officer at Llanelli police station was dismissed as no evidence was offered.

A HENDY man has been fined £400 by magistrates after he admitted assault.

William James Hodge, aged 32, of 73 Iscoed Road, assaulted Darren Leslie Rees by beating him at Llanelli on January 23.

Llanelli magistrates also ordered him to pay £100 compensation, a victim surcharge of £40 and £80 costs.

Two charges of failing to surrender to custody while on bail were withdrawn.

PRE-SENTENCE reports are being produced for the sentencing of an Ammanford man who stole meat from a Llanelli store.

Matthew Philip Rees, aged 37, of 59 Gwaun Henllan, admitted he took the meat - of a value unknown - from Marks and Spencer on Parc Trostre on March 26.

Llanelli magistrates remanded Rees on bail and adjourned the case until May 1.

TWO TUMBLE motorists have been fined by Llanelli magistrates for not having insurance.

David Mathew Walters, aged 39, of 13 Maesgwern, admitted the offence, which happened at Cross Hands in July 2014, and was fined £400 with three licence points, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Robert Morgan Thomas, aged 39, of 23 Maesgwern was convicted in his absence of his offence, which happened in Llanelli in August last year, and was fined £600 and disqualified from driving for six months due to repeat offending.

He must also pay costs of £85 and a £60 victim surcharge. Six points were added to his licence.

Meanwhile, a Llandeilo man has also been fined by Llanelli magistrates for also driving without car insurance.

Grant Jackson Sanders, aged 19, of 33 Heol Myrddin, Ffairfach, admitted the offence, which happened in Carmarthen in August, and was fined £200 with six points, costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

TWO MOTORISTS have been fined by Llanelli magistrates for breaking 70 miles per hour speed limits.

Kevin Mark Williams, aged 40, of 18 Heol Rhosybonwen, Cross Hands, admitted he had clocked up 80mph at Bancyfelin in August last year and was fined £135 with three points, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

And Damien Harris, aged 44, of Penygarn, Gwynfe Road, Llanfair, Llandeilo, admitted he drove at 80mph at Bancyfelin in June last year and was fined £80 with three points, £80 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
