A BETWS care home for the elderly has raised £710 for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Cartref Annwyl-Fan, in Colonel Road, raised the cash by hosting community barbecues, raffles and a non-uniform day for team members.
Adele Williams, Cartref Annwyl Fan General Manager, said: “It’s a pleasure to support such an essential service like Wales Air Ambulance. The team has worked really hard to come up with a sizeable donation.”
Wales Air Ambulance community coordinator Clive Scourfield, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Cartref Annwyl Fan for raising money for us.
“We rely entirely on donations to fund the cost of our three helicopters in north, mid and south Wales, which costs over £6million each year.
“Each time the helicopter attends an incident it costs on average £1,500.
“The £710 raised will go towards helping to fund a potentially lifesaving mission.”
