A Cefneithin building firm scooped the Best Individual New Home award at the Carmarthenshire 2015 Local Authority Building Control Excellence ceremony.
Treharne Homes Ltd lifted the award for the work on a new-build in Swiss Valley which highlighted the combination of new and traditional building techniques.
The property, designed by architects The Lewis Partnership of Llandeilo, was built on the grounds of a former bungalow which was demolished to make way for this new development.
The award-winning development comprised accommodation on three levels with a significant amount of landscaping undertaken to accommodate the site.
The frontage of the property features a large rain screen window system providing outstanding views of the nearby reservoir.
A spokesman for the authority said: “The final product is of a very high quality and provides a demonstration of how both new and old building techniques can be accommodated in a new home.”
