AN Ammanford man who admitted assault and criminal damage at Llanelli Magistrates Court has been made the subject of a community order for a year.

Christopher Williams, aged 31, of 48 Heol Llwyd, beat Sarah Setterfield at Ammanford on January 1 and also destroyed the door mirror on her car.

As part of the order, Williams must observe a two-month curfew between the hours of 8pm and 7am and attend activity sessions.

He must also pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

FAILING to identify a driver thought to have committed an offence has cost two motorists £600 fines and six licence points each.

Llanelli magistrates convicted Andrew Gray, aged 53, of Talley House, Talley, in his absence for the offence, which happened at Talley in August last year.

James Michael Shaw, 25, of 48 Rhosmaen Street, Llandeilo, failed to identify a driver in July last year, He was also convicted in his absence.

Both must also pay costs of £85 and a £60 victim surcharge each.

BREAKING 30 miles per hour speed limits has cost two motorist fines from Llanelli magistrates.

Jonathan Craig Day, aged 32, of 37 Ammanford Road, Tycroes admitted he drove at 39 miles per hour on Blaenau Road, Llandybie, in July 2014 and was fined £100 with three penalty points.

And Steven Wright, aged 26, of 7 Maesgwern, Tumble, was fined £80 with four points after admitting to driving through Llanfihangel Ar Arth at 43 miles per hour on July 17.

Both must pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharges.

LLANELLI magistrates have fined two motorists for breaking 40 miles per hour speed limits.

Stephen Cook, aged 57, of 11 Heol Abram, Ystradgynlais, drove at 52 miles per hour through Red Roses in July, last year . He was convicted in his absence and fined £200 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. His licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

Andrew John Boulton-Daniel, aged 49, of Ael y Bryn, Maesglas Road, Penygroes, admitted he had driven through Rhosmaen, Llandeilo, at 46 miles per hour in August.

He was fined £100 with three licence points and a £20 victim surcharge.
