UKIP has announced it has suspended its candidate for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr following allegations of financial irregularities.
Norma Woodwood was due to stand for UKIP in May but the the party has now removed her from all activities while an investigation is carried out.
It is understood that an examination will be carried out into the management of a party bank account and also "personal conduct which, if proven, could constitute bringing the party into disrepute".
A statement from UKIP Wales read: "In response to allegations brought to our attention regarding the conduct of a candidate, the UKIP Wales national committee took the reluctant decision to suspend this member, without prejudice, from all party activities.
"The allegations relate to the management of a branch's bank account of which the member is a signatory and their personal conduct which, if proven, would constitute bringing the party into disrepute. We will be carrying out a full investigation in due course.
"In the meantime the party will select an alternative prospective parliamentary candidate for the constituency."
