Carmarthenshire could face up to three inches of snow this evening and overnight, the Met Office has warned.
Severe weather warnings of snow and ice have been forecast for the county from 6pm tonight with predictions of heavy snow falling between 2am and 4am tomorrow morning.
Forecasters are predicting hail, sleet and snow showers through this evening with an additional risk of lightning, which is set to push in from the west.
There is a warning of icy stretches all across the county with snow accumulating even at low levels.
A severe weather warning is also in place for all day Wednesday with a forecast of severe gales developing throughout the afternoon along with the possibility of snow, hail and ice.
