Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police closed llandeilo Road in Cross Hands following reports of a gas leak this afternoon.
Cross Hands was brought to a standstill earlier today with the A476 Llandeilo Road closed between the A40 roundabout and the traffic lights at the junction with Carmarthen Road due to a gas leak.
Officers from Dyfed-Powys police closed the road from noon and a diversion was put in place.
Wales and West Utilities staff attended the scene and made the pipeline safe.
The road was reopened at 2pm.
