A ROUND-UP of some of the cases which went before Llanelli magistrates in the last week or two.

A LLANWRDA man, who produced cannabis, must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work as part of a year-long community order issued by Llanelli magistrates.

Rudis Perbenton, aged 44, of 17 Bro Dawel, admitted the offence, which happened in Llanwrda in August.

He must also pay costs of £85 and a £60 victim surcharge. The cannabis will be destroyed.

A LLANGADOG man has been made the subject of a two-year community order after admitting to assault and criminal damage.

Michael Patrick Byard, aged 31, of 32 Rhyd Y Fro, assaulted Liza Thomas at Ammanford on October 19 and also destroyed a glass cabinet, bankcard and chest of drawers.

He must participate in an integrated domestic abuse programme, carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and also attend10 sessions of alcohol activity.

Llanelli magistrates also ordered Byard to pay £275 compensation, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

A GORSLAS man has been disqualified from driving for six months for failing to identify a driver thought to have committed an offence.

Stuart Craig Davies, of 5 Bryn Mwyn, was not in court and did not enter a plea to offence, which happened in Llanelli in August.

Llanelli magistrates also fined the 22-year-old £600 with £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

USING a mobile phone when driving has cost a Cross Hands man £135 after he admitted the offence.

Gavin Wyn Lewis, aged 33, of 14 Heol Treventy, admitted the he used the phone at Five Roads in May.

He must also pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. Llanelli magistrates endorsed his licence with three points.

GRAHAM Francis Lawson, aged 65, of 11a Ammanford Road, Llandybie, admitted he drove at 38 miles per hour at Gorslas in May, and was fined £80 and ordered to pay a £20 legal surcharge, with three licence points.

GAYNOR Lee Pead, aged 54, of Awelog, Cross Hands, admitted she drove at 35 miles per hour at Drefach in May. She was fined £80, with three licence points. She must also pay a £20 victim surcharge.

MAGISTRATES have fined a Swansea Valley man £80 with a £20 victim surcharge fee for failing to wear a seat belt as he drove through Ystradgynlais in May.

Nicolas Scott Morgan, aged 23, of 37 Wade Avenue, Ystalyfera, admitted the offence.
