Amman Valley Women’s Aid (AVWA) has arranged a series of events as part of the national White Ribbon campaign.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the problems of domestic violence and has been backed by Carmarthenshire County Council leader Kevin Madge.

AVWA volunteers will be raising awareness of the issues in Ammanford Town Centre on Tuesday, November 25, from 11.30am to 2pm, and will also be participating in Ammanford Wonders of Christmas event with a Christmas Tree Exhibition with clients, volunteers and staff working hard to decorate a tree that will symbolise what the organisation represents.

The tree will be on view throughout the three-day Christmas event.

AVWA will also be holding a stall at the event on Saturday, November 29, to raise awareness of the group’s work and the White Ribbon campaign.

Staff will also taking part in the ‘largest gathering of snowmen’ attempt.

The annual White Ribbon Christmas Craft Fayre is set to take place on Saturday, December 6, at the Pensioner’s Hall, Ammanford, between 10am and 3pm.
