A round-up of the cases to go before Llanelli magistrates during the past week.

FAILING to wear a seatbelt has cost a Gwendraeth Valley man an £80 fine.

Johnathan Steven Davies aged 26, of 4 Troed y Bryn, Upper Tumble, admitted the offence, which happened on Heol Caegwyn in March, and Llanelli magistrates also ordered him to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

 

THREE motorists have been fined by Llanelli Magistrates for travelling on roads at speeds exceeding 30 miles per hour.

David John Bowen, aged 70, of 24 Cae Coed, Llandybie, admitted he drive at 43 miles per hour at Forest in April and was fined £75 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

He also received four penalty points.

Nicholas William Cater, aged 47, of Birds Hill Farm, Llandeilo, admitted he drove at 35 miles per hour in Gorslas in March and was fined £80 with a £20 victim surcharge with three points added to his licence.

And Ian Morgan, aged 47, of Hafan Deg, Church Road, Gorslas, was also fined £80 with a £20 victim surcharge for travelling through Gorslas in March at 41 miles per hour.

He admitted the offence and also received three licence points.

 

CARMARTHEN Magistrates have fined the following people for not having road tax:

Russell Bret Beynon, aged 39, of 20 Heol Y Waun, Pontarddulais, was fined £600 with £237.50 back duty and £90 costs.

Thomas David Christopher- Pickles, aged 24, of Gorsddu Terrace, Penygroes, was fined £400 with £47.09 back duty and a £90 costs.

Jonathan Mark Pugh, aged 28, of 12 Spien Road, Penygroes, was fined £400 with £63.75 back duty and £90 costs.

 

LLANELLI magistrates have fined two motorists for failing to notify the transfer of a vehicle.

Darrel Roy Daniels, aged 40, of Tan Y Fan, was fined £200 with £90 costs and a £20 victim surcharge, by Llanelli magistrates for his offence that happened in Ammanford in April.

Grant Griffiths, of 60 Maes Y Bedol, Garnant, was also fined £200 with £90 costs for the offence, which happened in Garnant in June.

Both cases were proved in their absence.
