More of the latest hearings to take place at Llanelli magistrates court in the past week or two.

A SWANSEA Valley man, who admitted taking a car without consent, also caused an accident while driving.

Jarren Jamie Francis, aged 27, of 29 Dantwyn Road, Pontardawe, took the Citroen C8 from Penllegaer on September 9 and then owing to his driving, caused an accident, which damaged a second car.

He also admitted to driving through Hendy with no insurance and while disqualified from driving.

Llanelli magistrates adjourned the case until October 15 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.

 

A CROSS Hands man, who broke the speed limit by driving at 41 miles per hour on a 30 mile-per-hour road, has been fined £75 with four penalty points for his licence.

Gareth Peter Lewis, aged 18, of 3 Tir Y Dderwen, admitted the offence, which occurred on Heol Caegwyn, Drefach.

Llanelli magistrates also ordered Lewis to pay £85 costs with a £20 victim surcharge. A second charge of failing to identify a driver was withdrawn.

 

LLANELLI magistrates have fined a Tumble man after he drove at 36 miles per hour on a 30-limit road in Cwmmawr.

Geraint Evan Lloyd, aged 39, of 5 Singleton Road, admitted the offence, which happened in March, and was fined £80 with a £20 victim surcharge and his licence was endorsed with three points.

 

CARMARTHENSHRIE County Council applied to Llanelli Magistrates Court for 323 liability orders for non-payment of council tax plus costs this month.

Of the 323 defendants complained against, magistrates granted 208 orders, withdrew 87 and 21 accounts were paid.
