A round-up of the cases heard by Llanelli magistrates during the past week or so.

MAGISTRATES have bailed a Garnant man for assault and unlawful damage.

John Andrew Jenkins, aged 45, of 82 Tan y Gelli, has been remanded on conditional bail, including a a night-time curfew and a ban on entering licensed premises, after he admitted beating Catrin Sian Jones and damaging a mobile phone and necklace in Glanaman on August 15.

The case was adjourned by Llanelli magistrates until October 15 for pre-sentence reports.

 

AN AMMANFORD man has been fined for possession of class C drugs.

Robert John Morris, aged 25, of 50 Arthur Street, admitted having 0.787 grams of ketamine when in Gorslas in June.

Llanelli magistrates fined him £55 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. The drugs will be destroyed.

 

LLANELLI magistrates have fined an Amman Valley man £135 after he broke a 30-mile-per-hour speed limit.

Karl Lee Butler, aged 44, of 9 Cwmamman Road, Glanaman, admitted he drove at 42 miles per hour in Brynaman in March. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs, a £20 victim surcharge and his licence was endorsed with four points.

 

A TUMBLE man has appeared in court charged with drink-driving.

Mathew Powell, aged 28, of 26 High Street, has denied the charge that he drove through Bury Port in May with a reading of 87 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood- the legal limit is 80 micrograms.

Llanelli magistrates adjourned the case until October 20.

 

AN AMMANFORD man has been fined by Llanelli magistrates for unlawful damage.

Joshua Sam Flint, aged 19, of 28 Pont Y Blodau, Blaenau, admitted he had damaged a window belonging to Yasmine Hanford in Ammanford on September 10.

He was fined £50 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
