CARMARTHENSHIRE entrepreneur and star of Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire, Kevin Green, has given his backing to Ammanford Jobcentre’s event promoting self-employment.

The information day – Be Your Own Boss – is set to feature a host of organisations that will be on hand to give advice to anyone thinking of striking out on their own and moving into the world of self-employment.

Mr Green has recorded a special video that will be shown at the event – and the self-made multi-millionaire is also offering someone the chance to win complimentary tickets to one of his training events.

“I’m delighted to be supporting the Ammanford Be Your Own Boss event,” he said.

“As someone who has worked his way up from being homeless to being a multi-millionaire, I am proof that becoming your own boss can work.

“I’m as enthusiastic and as passionate about my businesses as I was at day one when I set out on the road to buying my first property.

“Hopefully, I can instil some of that passion and commitment in others as they strive to be the entrepreneurs of the future.

The Jobcentre on Park Street will become a hub of information on Friday, October 3, so if you’re thinking about a business idea and considering self employment, you could be walking in the same footsteps as Kevin Green.

“South Wales is a great place to live and work and is full of people with great ideas and a passion for doing business,” said Mr Green.

“Working with the Welsh Government, I have been helping to develop entrepreneurial skills throughout Wales.

“Seeing other people succeed in business gives me great pleasure and I take great delight in providing training programmes for people starting their own businesses.

“Ammanford Jobcentre’s Be Your Own Boss event promises to be a great opportunity for the people of Ammanford and the surrounding area to explore the world of business opportunities.

“Hopefully, it will help give people the opportunity to realise their potential.”

A host of organisations will be in attendance at the event.

Those already confirmed to attend include Antur Teifi, Un Sir Gar, Carmarthenshire County Business Services, Coleg Sir Gar, A4e, Enterprise Mentoring, Prime Cymru, Princes Trust, Family Information Service, Centre for Business, Mentor Bro Dinefwr, Careers Wales, Want 2 Work, Role Model (Rhiannon Rowley) of Abaca, Cara (self employed artist), HM Forces, Carmarthenshire county council leader Kevin Madge and Llanelli deputy mayor.
