SOUTH Wales Police are appealing for information in relation to a black Ford Focus seen in Ammanford during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The vehicle was involved in a fatal road collision in Baglan at 4am which lead to the death of the two male occupants of the vehicle.

According to reports the vehicle left the A48 and collided with a wall on Old Road, Briton Ferry, close to a McDonalds restaurant.

Officers investigating the incident would like to speak to anybody who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision as it travelled eastbound, from the direction of Ammanford, along the M4, and then as it travelled along Britton Ferry bridge.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “Officers would also like to speak to the occupants of a black vehicle, believed to be a taxi, which was seen using the Britton Ferry roundabout at the time of the incident.

“In accordance with force policy and statutory guidance, South Wales Police can confirm the incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as prior to the collision, officers were searching for the vehicle after receiving information from Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police that it had been seen acting suspiciously in the Ammanford area.”

Officers and emergency services arrived at the scene of the collision after it was reported by a member of the public, but both men were pronounced deceased on arrival.
