A charity night organised by RYAN4LEUKAEMIA went down a storm as Ragsy, star of the BBC talent show, The Voice, took to the stage in Betws RFC.

The event attracted more than a 150 people and raised in excess of £1,300.

All the money raised will go to help cancer patients throughout Wales as well as helping local children making their journey and fight slightly easier.

Patron of the charity Ryan Davies, an Acute Myeloid Leukaemia Ph+ patient, said: “It was a top effort by all.

“Ragsy was very supportive and even helped with the auction and raffle.

“He is a very down-to-earth guy with a brilliant voice, his set was excellent.

“He basically said how grateful he was in being asked to perform for R4L.

“But on a personal note, I'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the event and spent their hard earned cash.

“And not forgetting everyone who donated prizes and all of those who worked so hard during the night.

“Josh on disco and karaoke and the brilliant Ragsy made it a night to remember which I am truly grateful for.”

More money will be added to the pot when three of Ryan's pals return next week from climbing Kilimanjaro - the tallest free standing mountain in the world.
