A GARNANT man has appeared in court charged with animal cruelty.
Andrew Paul Thomas, of Gwndwngwyn Farm, Bryncethin Road, is charged with eight counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a horse and three of failing to provide adequate care by not providing a shelter.
Thomas, aged 36, is alleged to have caused suffering to five horses by failing to address the cause of their weight loss as well as not addressing dental and parasitic problems in two of them.
All charges relate to his home address and are said to have happened between January and February of this year.
The case was adjourned until September 19 by Carmarthen magistrates at the request of the defence.
No pleas were entered.
