WRESTLING fans are in for a treat next week when JT Supplements in Ammanford welcomes Welsh professional wrestler Robert ‘The Freak’ Terry.

The two time heavy weight wrestling champion will be making a personal appearance at the Lloyd street store on August 29, where he will be signing autographs and you will even have the opportunity to have your photo taken with the American television star.

Robert, now living in Florida, was always a wrestling fanatic from a young age.

“My mates and I would stay up until the early hours to watch the Wrestling on TV,” said Ynystawe born Robert.

“Wrestling was always a dream of mine.”

The former Bonymaen rugby player started competing in bodybuilding competitions and by the age of 20 he had won three junior Welsh and two junior British titles.

By 2006 Robert had turned professional and was competing in competitions in California.

This is when Robert’s life took a dramatic turn.

“I was approached by a WWE scout and was asked to attend try outs at Earls Court in London,” he said.

A few months later in 2007 Robert found himself being flown out to Florida, where he was signed up by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

“Moving to Florida was a complete culture shock, my childhood dream of becoming a professional wrestler were finally coming true.”

“My friends were so proud of me, they knew just how much I wanted this,” he added.

Following on from his WWE success Robert signed up to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TMA) where he became part of the British Invasion with Nick Aldis and Doug Williams.

The popular threesome received a lot of media and television attention.

“I loved being part of the British Invasion,” said Robert.

Robert was then signed to Hulk Hogan’s group Team Immortal where he became a solo wrestler.

“I’m loving every minute of my career,” said Robert.

Robert will be at JT Supplements on Friday, August 29 from 10am to 12pm.
