Do you know an unsung heroine or hero that has made an outstanding contribution to your child’s life?

Do they work for Flying Start? Have they shown initiative, creativity, compassion, tenacity and genuine care for the child and family they support?

If the answer is yes, then why not nominate them for a ‘Stars in Their Lives’ award.

The aim is to select a ‘star’ in each region of Wales and then an all-Wales winner, who will be crowned the ultimate ‘Stars in their Lives’ winner.

“We routinely hear positive comments from parents about the contribution of Flying Start staff and how they go the extra mile to help their little ones,” said Nia Mcintosh, Carmarthenshire’s Flying Start Coordinator.

Flying Start is one of the Welsh Government’s key programmes for tackling poverty and aims to make a decisive difference to the lives of children, in the most disadvantaged communities.

The awards will be presented by the Deputy Minister for Tackling Poverty, Vaughan Gething, at the Flying Start National Learning Conference in the Autumn.

Nominations form can be obtained from local Flying Start centres, Family Information Service or online at facebook.com/FlyingStartWales.
