Penygroes History Society will be holding a special meeting in November to remember the sacrifices of local men during the First World War.

Club chairman Adrian Davies said: “We are trying to collect as many old photos and documents relating to the war as possible to show to villagers at a special evening in November.

"If anyone has anything that they are willing to lend us could they please contact me on 01269 843719.

"All documents will be scanned and returned to you within 24 hours.”

Penygroes resident, Jonathan Edwards MP, said: “ I would like to encourage anyone who has old photos to lend them to the History Club so that all in the area can learn about the sacrifices of local people 100 years ago.

"I would also like to thank Adrian Davies and other members of the club for the excellent work that they have done in promoting the history of Penygroes.”
