Members of the Ammanford Rotary Club gathered recently at the Red Lion, Llandybie, for their annual Presidential Handover Dinner.

The guests of honour were the Town Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor and Mrs. Jonathan Jennings. The Master of Ceremonies was incoming Vice President, Graham Gunnell, who has recently moved to the area from Cornwall.

In his valedictory address, retiring President, Nigel Evans, said how much he had enjoyed his year in office and how the club had "punched above its" weight, fundraising for worthy causes both at home and abroad.

Events during his year included the Carnival and Big Day Out, Carol Concert, Swimathon, Film Premier, and most recently a Fashion Show held at the Mountain Gate, Tycroes.

He stressed how hard he had worked to recruit new members to the club and will continue to do so.

Nigel's final duty was to hand over the 'Badge of Office' to incoming President, Rob Thomas.

Rob's first and most pleasant duty was to present Rotary's premier recognition of service, the Paul Harris Fellowship, to retired schoolmaster, Rotarian Caron Morgan.
