Coleg Sir Gâr’s Ammanford campus is set to host a taster course to help people access work in the health and social care sector.
Teaching a professional standard of care designed to help people with their first stages of employment, the social care induction framework is aimed at adults who are new to the sector, want to retrain or return to work, or have some experience that they want to develop into a career.
The college is offering a free taster session of this part-time course from June 25 to 27. The course will then run from September.
Mari Tait, a health and social care lecturer who is running the course, said: “Candidates do not have to have any experience, this is just a great opportunity to look at some of the issues we’ll be covering such as working with adults who are at risk and working with children and young people.
“The social care induction framework was developed nationally, putting people at the centre of service delivery, ensuring the protection of the vulnerable to maintain a professional standard of support and care.”
