A 28-year-old Ammanford man has appeared before magistrates to deny he is a drug dealer.

Jamie Lee Short, of Saron Road, pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of cannabis with intent to supply after he was arrested at his former home in Alltwalis on June 19 last year.

Llanelli magistrates were told how a police raid on the property uncovered 156.2 grammes of the Class B drug.

Short has also been accused of growing five cannabis plants.

Vaughan Pritchard Jones, prosecuting, told magistrates that it was the police view that Short was “a street dealer”.

Short is due to appear for trial at Swansea crown court on February 28.
