A MAN has died following a collision with a telegraph post and bridge pillar on a Towy Valley road.
The pensioner, 79, was driving a Red Rover hatchback car, travelling on an unclassified road from Llanddeusant towards Llangadog at about 3.50pm yesterday (Thursday, January 9).
The collision happened about a quarter of a mile from the junction with the A4069 at a location known locally as Pont Crynfau near Coed Penyrhiw.
He was taken to West Wales General Hospital but later died.
Dyfed Powys police are appealing for information.
“If anyone was driving in this area at the relevant time yesterday (January 9), and may have seen this car, I’d ask them to please get in touch,” said Road Policing Sergeant Shane Davies.
“We’re trying to establish what has happened and any information that can help us is welcome.”
“We can be contacted at Carmarthen Police Station on 101.”
