MPJonathan Edwards took to the cold, wet and windy streets on Christmas Eve to help deliver meals on wheels to his constituents.

On his round the Plaid Cymru MP paid tribute to the volunteers who give up their time to ensure some of our most vulnerable neighbours have a hot and nutritious meal. He also paid tribute to those who are on-call over the festive period to help keep our communities safe.

“Helping to deliver meals to my constituents this Christmas Eve has shown me how grateful they are to have volunteers call with them and provide that hot meal," he said. "For many, just having a friendly familiar face for a brief chat can make a difference to their day.

“We cannot underestimate the benefits these volunteers bring to our communities and I am certainly grateful for their efforts.

“I would also like to pay tribute to the council workers and emergency services who have been working already to keep our communities safe following the horrendous weather we have experienced.

“Home carers will be again brave all weathers to get to our most vulnerable neighbours during the festive period. I know families right across Carmarthenshire are thankful for their support.

“More bad weather is forecast and no doubt our emergency services will be called upon once again. I want to put on record my thanks for their selfless service to our communities.”
