WE know Santa will be making house to house calls on Christmas Eve, but there’ll be a few others on their calls too…
Over 100 Carmarthenshire county council home carers will be on their travels throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, carrying out business as usual to hundreds of vulnerable older people.
For many, it may be the only familiar face they’ll see on Christmas Day.
As well as home care visits, over 200 staff will be on shift at the council’s residential care homes through the night on Christmas Ev, and throughout Christmas Day.
Careline staff will also be on standby to take emergency calls all through the festive season.
Cllr Jane Tremlett, Executive Board Member for Health and Social Care, said: “Our staff do a wonderful job every day of the year, but I want to thank them personally for all that they do on Christmas Day when I know that they’d love to be at home with their families.”
