POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fire was started in a newly-renovated toilet block in Iscennen Road, Ammanford, yesterday.
The fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately, was reported just after 2.30pm.
“Early indications are that the seat of the fire appears to be a wall-mounted plastic toilet roll holder,” said Sergeant Kerry Scoberg.
“The toilet block has sustained a lot of water damage as a result of trying to extinguish the fire. This is distressing as the block has only recently undergone extensive renovation.
“I would appeal to anyone with information on this crime to come forward and help us with our inquiries.
“In the meantime, officers will be out on high visibility patrol in this area to re-assure the community.”
