CWMAMAN’S fourth annual carnival in June will include a rugby tournament for under-sevens, 10s and 15s for the first time.

Garnant and Glanaman’s traditional summer fun event at Parc yr Aman on June 29 will also feature a traditional carnival float procession, arts, crafts, main arena attractions, refreshment units, community stands and exhibitors, adult and child fun fair rides and stalls, Carmarthenshire council leader Kevin Madge said: “I am delighted that this event is growing year on year and is thanks to the hard work of all those involved. I want to see our carnival second to none and would like to see the whole community turn out.

“The rugby competition is sure to be a big hit getting so many more people involved in the community’s big day out.”

Cwmaman Mayor Yvonne Evans said she would like to see every family playing their part, “We have had more than 1,200 involved in recent years,” she said.

“With so much going on this year I want to see an extra push and more carnival floats and more people dressing up and making an effort to make our procession the best ever.”

Partners include Amman United RFC, Cwmaman Carnival Committee, Cwmaman Town Council, Carmarthenshire County Council and the council’s sports development team.
