WOULD you like to play an important role in the main ceremonies when the National Eisteddfod comes to Llanelli in 2014?
The Gorsedd of the Bards has a number of colourful ceremonies during the Eisteddfod itself and the Proclamation Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, June 29 this year.
Organisers are currently inviting individuals to apply to take part in the ceremonies.
A spokesman said they were looking for the following: Gorsedd hand-maidens: Two girls currently in school years 4, 5 and 6 are required. They will assist the presenter of the Blodeuged as she presents the Blodeuged/ Flowers to the Archdruid.
Gorsedd page boys:Two boys currently in years 4, 5 and 6. They will assist the presenter of the Corn Hirlas as she presents the Corn Hirlas to the Archdruid.
Presenter of the Blodeuged: A Welshspeaking girl aged around 17-18 is required to present the Blodeuged of flowers to the Archdruid.
Presenter of the Corn Hirlas: A Welsh-speaking mother is required to present the Corn Hirlas to the Archdruid as a symbol on behalf of the locality.
Flower dance: Around 30-34 girls currently in school years 4 or 5 are required to perform the Flower Dance, which is performed for the winning bard at the Crowning and Chairing Ceremonies and at the Proclamation Ceremony.
